This remix sounds heavier in the bass region and it sounds like percussion instruments that once were set further back are more prominent now. Drums, piano, strings seem more prominent. As for JT's guitar, I don't seem to hear it ring out like in the original version. Like it's a little pushed back in the mix? Compressed / EQ'd different maybe?I listened to this first on my system with Heresy III's, 15" Definitve Sub, Jolida JD 302BRC power amp, PS Audio 4.5 preamp, Dual 1229 w/Stanton 681EEE cart. Then on my Altec Model 19's, Definitive 15" Sub, Yamaha R-N303 receiver, Technics SL1200 M3D w/VMN40ML cart.I also played it on one more system. Klipsch RP280-F Bi-Amped, Yamaha RX-A780, MF 5.3 w/Ortofon 2M Blue cart. Played in Direct Mode. The Altec system delivered a well rounded, balanced and enjoyable mix. Certain parts still stood out more though. I usually enjoy the Heresy's way of delivering everything obvious and also what's buried in the mix. I'm just not sure about this LP at the moment. I thought the original version sounded best on the Heresy's.The third system sounded very nice. Maybe somewhat compressed compared to the original mix. An even mix just the same.Funny to be 65 years old and have had many albums from when they were first released totally analog. There's new technologies offered today, who knows, maybe these tracks were digitized at some point? But I get myself involved with critiquing one to another for many reasons, at times just due to all of the comments others leave in regards to what they may think. With the exception of George Harrison's ALTMP, I end up liking what I hear regarding remastered versions of LP's.I'm giving this album 5 stars just for the fact that I'm pleasantly pleased with the quality of the pressing, it looks clean, lays flat and plays well and quiet. The mix may sound somewhat different but, isn't that what we're so curious about? I know it makes me listen deep so I may tend to hear things different just because of that. And, my hearing isn't what it once was either.I have to report that I believe most people will enjoy hearing this album anew. Enjoy!
